Par exemple, un courrier de relance des factures impayées :
Dear Sirs,
We would like to remind you that a sum of Euros 1000 remains overdue in spite of the lapse of two months since we shipped the goods and issued invoice 123456.
We shall be glad if you will send us a cheque to balance the amount immediately. If by any chance your cheque is already in the mail, please ignore this reminder and accept our thanks.

Autre exemple, pour demander le paiement par virement bancaire de factures échues :
Dear Sirs,
We very much regret that the sum of Euros 1000 has been overdue since long and in spite of our repeated requests and reminders you haven’t cared to reply or remit the amount.
We urge you to effect the transfer of funds immediately. If we do not receive the above amount within a week of the receipt of this notice, we shall be constrained to resort to legal proceeding and you shall be held liable to the consequences.

Vous trouverez également ci-dessous quelques verbes utiles pour tout ce qui correspond au domaine financier. L’utilisation pertinente de ces verbes apportera un cachet de compétence et de sérieux vos écrits :
- To account for x% of abc : représenter x% d’un tout abc …ex : « Our business accounts for over 30% of your total sales, so you should consider granting us more reasonable payment terms ».
- To back : financer un projet, ex : « We are pleased to confirm that our firm will back the research and development of automotive roof top solar panels »
- To cash in on something : capitaliser, percevoir, empocher les dividendes produits par quelque chose, ex : « After the takeover by Peugeot, Citroen never really cashed in on the boldly innovative design line and features their cars were known for »
- To plough : investir des sommes d’argent massives dans quelque chose, ex : « The amounts which were ploughed into Internet startups by business angels and venture capitalists back in 2000 dwarfed any turnover most of these companies ever generated »
- To squirrel away : épargner, accumuler , ex : « The French are known to squirrel away as large a proportion of their income as they can afford and to steer clear from making adventurous investments »
- To address : traiter un problème, apporter une solution, ex : « We understand how pressing the matter of advanced delivery of products is to you and we will gladly entertain your request, but it is now time to address the issue of late payments »
- To shell out money for something : consacrer une importante somme d’argent à une dépense ou un investissement, ex : « Multinational companies are reported to shell out sizeable sums of maoney to secure market shares in emerging markets, probably at the expense of their home markets »
